What is the Safe Tourism Certificate?
The Safe Tourism Program is a practice initiated in June 2020 certifying tourist facilities’ compliance with international hygiene measures against the COVID-19 pandemic in order to present a safe travel experience to all our guests.
The Safe Tourism Program defines a series of measures along a broad-spectrum including transportation, accommodation, health conditions of both facility personnel and guests, and restaurants and convention centers for the safety of all guests who desire to spend their holiday in Türkiye.
Why should I join the Safe Tourism Program?
Safe Tourism is a certificate which concretely signifies the importance and care attached by all facilities in the sector to human health. In an effort to certify their sensitivity towards the well-being of their guests, all facilities should join this program.
Which facilities are considered within the scope of Safe Tourism?
All facilities including accommodation facilities, food and beverage facilities, tour transfer vehicles, convention-exhibition centers, and marinas serving sea tourism can apply for this certificate.
Why is there more than one criteria form?
Each facility undergoes different audits depending on their field of activity. Separate comprehensive criteria forms are prepared in accordance with international standards.
Is contracted personnel informed within the scope of Safe Tourism?
Safe Tourism requires all personnel working in the tourism sector to receive hygiene training that has been updated in relation to the COVID-19 pandemic.
What is the validity period of the Safe Tourism Certificate?
Each certificate is valid for one month. Dates of issuance and expiry are written on the certificate for the information of guests.
Where can I obtain the Safe Tourism criteria form?
You can find the criteria forms prepared in four main categories and in four languages at tga.gov.tr.
Who performs the audit of the facilities for the Safe Tourism process?
The audits are performed by experienced auditors working in international audit companies defined within the scope of the program.
How can we become an audit company for the Safe Tourism Certificate?
All the criteria and required application forms to become a Safe Tourism audit company are available at tga.gov.tr.
